Rodgers hopes that the chance to ply his trade in the Champions League will tempt Arnautovic into pushing for the possibility to leave the Britannia Stadium for Merseyside.
Mark Hughes would be loathed to lose Arnautovic, who has had an outstanding debut Premier League season scoring four goals and finishing the campaign as the club’s leading assist maker.
Rodgers is keen to bring in a wide attacking addition this summer and will not look to make a permanent move for loaned in Chelsea man Victor Moses, opting instead to land Arnautovic who moved to Stoke City last summer in a £2m deal.
The cultured forward is already a fan favourite at Stoke City but despite his side’s top half finish a move to Liverpool is sure to interest the former Werder Bremen man.
Brendan Rodgers will be looking to bring in a number of signings this summer and as well as looking for a winger he is keen to bring in a central defender, a defensive midfielder and a left-back.
