Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers knows the goalkeeper well from their time working together at the Liberty Stadium, and is now expected to make a move for the highly rated Netherlands international to provide competition for current No 1 Simon Mignolet in goal at Anfield next season.

RB: Glen Johnson

The England international has just enjoyed an excellent campaign on the right-hand side of the Reds’ back four, with the attack-minded full set to keep his starting place at the club going into the new campaign.

CB: Martin Skrtel

Another one of the Merseysiders’ back four to have impressed during the previous campaign, meaning the shaven-headed Slovakia international can relax on the beech this summer knowing that he will be one of the first names down on the team sheet next season.

CB: Steven Caulker

Another player who Rodgers knows extremely well from when the Northern Irishman was in charge at the Liberty Stadium, and with Cardiff City now preparing to offload the England international, expect Liverpool to lure the centre back to Merseyside this summer as a replacement for Daniel Agger.

LB: Jon Flanagan

The young full back was one of the stars of the season at Anfield last time around, with the versatile defender even earning a call-up to be one of England’s seven standby players for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

CM: Steven Gerrard

The Reds’ inspirational skipper will still have enough left in the tank to carry on protecting the back four for at least one more campaign at Anfield.

CM: Jordan Henderson

Another player who really shone for the Merseyside giants last time out, with the England international now guaranteed his place in Liverpool’s first XI for the foreseeable future at least.

CM: Adam Lalllana

Liverpool appear on the verge of luring the highly rated Southampton skipper north to Anfield in a deal worth a whopping £25m, with the left-sided wide man set to slip into the Reds’ midfield diamond in place of Philippe Coutinho.

FW: Raheem Sterling

Again, yet another of the club’s young stars who lit up Anfield in the previous campaign with his vast array of attacking skills, so much so that the England international will now walk into the Reds’ starting lineup at the start of the new season with his eyes closed.

FW: Luis Suarez

While Liverpool are sure to receive another of inquiries about their brilliant Uruguay international when the summer transfer window reopens, expect the club’s owner John W Henry to ignore them all just as he did this time last year.

ST: Daniel Sturridge

The England international netted 21 goals in the Premier League, the second highest number behind his team-mate Suarez, meaning the red-hot striker will have no problems retaining his place in attack on Merseyside in the new campaign.
