Anfield captain to quit international scene after summer finals.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will retire from England national team duty after the upcoming World Cup finals according to the Daily Mail.
The 33 year old is ready to call time on his international career as he seeks to extend his club playing career following his signing of an Anfield contract extension that will run until the summer of 2016.

Gerrard made his England debut in May 2000 and now has 109 caps to his name and will hope to go out on a high with a strong performance in Brazil.
The cultured midfielder had one of his best ever seasons this term, playing a pivotal role in Liverpool’s Premier League title push.
The veteran racked up 13 Premier League goals and finished the season as the leading assist maker and goes into the World Cup finals very much in-form and Roy Hodgson will hope he provides England with the spark they need to make an impact in Brazil.
Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard is also expected to retire from national team duty after the tournament.
