The England international’s current deal at Stamford Bridge runs out at the end of June and recent reports in the British Press had suggested that talks between Lampard’s representatives and the Blues hierarchy had broken down over the player’s wage demands.
Lampard currently earns a whopping £150,000 per week in west London, however, it now appears that a suitable agreement has been reached that will see the 35-year-old remain at the club next season, with the player expected to sign the new 12-month deal when he returns from England’s warm-weather training camp in Portugal next week.
“Frank is feeling very positive about the whole thing. He fully expects his Chelsea future to be resolved at some point next week before he flies off to Brazil,” said a source close to Lampard.
“He is not looking at any other option other than spending next season at Stamford Bridge.”
