Five Possible Destinations For Manchester City Star Yaya Toure

Five top clubs that would gladly take Yaya Toure off Manchester City’s hands.

With the recent news that Yaya Toure could be looking to leave Manchester City despite another successful season at the Eithad, CaughtOffside have compiled a list of five clubs that could, and would, make a bid money move to bring the Ivorian on board this summer.

5. Barcelona

Having already featured for the Catalan giants between 2007-10 he will already understand the culture of the club and will have no problems fitting in to life in Spain. His agent has made no secret that the pair desire a return to the Spanish giants and with the club looking towards a sea change in personnel this summer after missing out on the title to Atletico Madrid. An injection of raw power and pace into the middle will be much needed, and Toure could find himself high on their priority list.

4. Monaco

Another of Toure’s former club’s are looking to rebuild this summer as their spending spree during the last big transfer window saw them fall short of Paris Saint Germain by nine agonising points. Furthermore, with the likes of Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez already being tipped with moves away in the coming months they will be looking to add some more star names to either replace them or convince them to stay put.

3. Manchester United

United have had a terrible season by their standards, and the problem for the most part was the midfield letting them down. With several current stars set to move on this summer United will be looking to add some higher quality players to those positions to ensure that they don’t suffer a similar fate. However, with Louis Van Gaal coming on board after the World Cup and subsequently being linked with every Dutch midfielder in existence then a move may not be likely.

2. Paris Saint Germain

Like Monaco, PSG would have no problem with meeting the midfielder’s massive wage demands, and they may just be ambitious enough to pay it without a second thought. Having already put the French top flight on lockdown they will be turning their attentions towards Europe next season as two near misses aren’t good enough for a club that has set its sights on world domination. Like many others, PSG are looking to overhaul their midfield this summer with the likes of Marco Verratti set to depart, so there will be some space to accommodate his skills.

1. Arsenal

Winning the FA Cup bought Arsene Wenger some much needed time in the job, but that won’t count for much if he is stringent during the transfer window again. There is a sense that Wenger knows that this is the case now as he enters the final stages of his career at the club, and with the amount of injuries sustained by the Gunners midfield this season Toure would be well worth the outlay. And as he is over 30 a long term deal wouldn’t be an issue, though it may be worth Wenger breaking that rule for once.
