The Players Arsenal Are Set To Spend £100m On This Summer Including Manchester City Ace And Benzema

How Wenger will spend his transfer kitty.

Despite the fact Arsenal ended what was approaching a nine year trophy drought on Saturday by winning the FA Cup, improvement within the squad is needed.

As such, after being handed a new contract manager Arsene Wenger is then set to be given a £100m transfer budget to spend on new players this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Here is how the Frenchman is expected to spend that money.

Serge Aurier, Toulouse

With Bacary Sagna set to leave the Emirates Stadium when his contract expires in a few weeks time, signing a new right-back is a priority for Wenger.

That is why the 64-year-old has been drawn to Aurier, who has been greatly impressing in Ligue 1 this season, is still only 21-years-old and would probably be available for a relatively cheap £7m fee.

Lars Bender, Bayer Leverkusen

Another area where Wenger is desperate for recruitment is in defensive midfield, where the current options of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are not considered good enough for a Premier League title push.

That is where Bender comes in, with the Leverkusen midfielder having the physicality and ability to break things up in front of the back four and allow the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere to shine.

Karim Benzema, Real Madrid

Finally, a problem area for the Gunners this term has been in attack, where Wenger has admitted too much reliance was put on Olivier Giroud.

As solid as the France international is, his fellow countryman Benzema is a much more proven goalscorer and could be snapped up as the striker enters the final year of his current contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

David Marshall, Cardiff City

With Lukasz Fabianski expected to join Sagna by leaving north London when his current deal expires, a backup to No.1 Wojciech Szczesny is a priority for the boss.

Therefore whilst Marshall may not be considered to be a “star” name, the Scot impressed enough at Cardiff in 2013/14 to suggest he could be solid competition for Szczesny.

Micah Richards, Manchester City

With Sagna on his way and doubts over the capabilities of Carl Jenkinson, the north Londoners may well look to sign two right-backs this summer.

Having been left on the periphery at City for some time Richards is desperate to achieve more first team football away from the Etihad Stadium and the Englishman has the added bonus of also being able to play in central defence.

Morgan Schneiderlin, Southampton

With Ramsey and Wilshere both having spent lengthy spells on the sidelines with injuries this term, central midfield is an area that greatly needs strengthening.

As previously mentioned Arteta and Flamini are perhaps finding it too difficult to adapt to different situations and Schneiderlin has already hinted that he would like a move to a Champions League side.
