Valencia are very keen on signing City striker Dzeko.
Spanish club Valencia, who have been buoyed by their takeover by Singapore business man Peter Lim, have targeted Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, reports the Daily Star.
The 28-year old Bosnian played a very important role in the Citizens’ Premier League and League Cup triumph recently by scoring 25 goals in 46 games, and he is now one of the most wanted strikers in Europe.
Dzeko also has only one more year remaining on his current deal with City, and Valencia believe that they can get the former Wolfsburg hitman to turn his head towards the Mestalla Stadium.
Los Che are plotting a major spending spree this summer, as Lim’s takeover is set to wipe out their losses and could hence have the financial power to tempt Man City to sell the striker.
The Citizens’ boss Manuel Pellegrini wants to keep the title winning squad together as much as possible though, and more so Dzeko, who came to the club’s rescue when the likes of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo went missing.
