La Galaxy striker Landon Donovan proved just why the decision to axe him from the USMNT’s World Cup squad was such a controversial decision at the weekend as he broke the all-time MLS goalscoring record against Philadelphia Union.

The 32-year-old bagged a brace in the 4-1 victory, taking his career total in the American top flight to 136 career goals.

After the second goal went in fans began chanting “USA! USA!”
