Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

The Blues have already met the Brazil-born front man’s £32m release clause in his current contract with the La Liga champions, and now all the west Londoners need to do is agree personal terms with the Spain international before the transfer is made official, which is expected to happen before the start of next month’s World Cup in Brazil according to the Daily Star

Alberto Moreno (Sevilla)

The new Spain international is now one of the most sought after players in his position currently operating in Planet Football, so much so in fact that there are now a plethora of big-name clubs throughout the continent understood to be lining up to sign the 21-year-old this summer, although it is the Blues who appear to be winning the race to sign the player according to the Metro.

Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)

It does not take a rocket scientist to work out why Chelsea ended up without any silverware last season, and that was quite simply because the west London club’s three main strikers were unable to put the ball in the back of the net on a consistent basis.

As a result, Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho is now said to be preparing to bring in at least two new attackers to Stamford Bridge for the new campaign, one of who is the Bundesliga champions’ brilliant Croatia international, claims the Daily Express

Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

With the coveted Germany international expected to be offloaded by Los Blancos this summer now that the holding midfielder has just a little over a year remaining on his current deal in the Spanish capital, reports in the Daily Star say that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wants to be reunited again with the water carrier in west London next season, although the Blues would be forced to fork out a whopping 36m in order to land the player.

John Stones (Everton)

The Daily Mirror reports that the Blues are keen to be able to complete the £12m capture of the young Toffees defender, who is capable of operating as either a centre back or a right back, before the start of next month’s Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil, with the Blues boss Jose Mourinho believed to hold the defensive starlet in high regard following his breakthrough campaign on Merseyside last time around.
