Top Ten Most Wanted Summer Premier League Transfer Targets

10 players who are being eagerly pursued by all and sundry!

10. Gareth Barry (Man City)

Soon to be out of contract and a player who’s options this summer have been greatly aided by a superb season at Everton.

The experienced midfielder will field a host of offers and could well be best placed to not ‘chase the money’ and instead look for a move that would offer regular first team football and as such would do well to consider a permanent Goodison Park switch, with Roberto Martinez known to be interested as are West Ham.

9. James Milner (Man City)

The experienced England international is perhaps considering his Etihad Stadium future having become something of an ‘impact’ player from the bench under Manuel Pellegrini and a move for the versatile midfielder would be a wise one to consider.

Arsenal are said to be keen on the adaptable performer who is in many ways wasted at Man City.

8. Loic Remy (QPR)

Harry Redknapp has openly admitted that the French international is likely to leave Loftus Road on a permanent basis this summer and there will be no shortage of offers for the 27 year old ace, who has enjoyed a successful season at Newcastle United.

The former Marseille man scored 14 goals in 24 Premier League starts last season and Liverpool, Arsenal and the Magpies hope to lure Remy when the transfer window re-opens.

7. Mario Balotelli (AC Milan)

The Italian has had an up and down time of it since returning to the San Siro and has been strongly linked with a return to the English top tier and his record in front of goal is such that any off field antics could well be negated by the damage the 23 year old can inflict upon the opposition defences in the Premier League.

30 goals in 53 appearances since his move to AC Milan in January 2013 shows that despite his ‘troubled’ persona Balotelli has no issues finding the back of the net, hence interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the former Man City man.

6. Ashley Cole (Chelsea)

The 33 year old left-back was frozen out of Chelsea duties by Jose Mourinho and wasn’t offered a new Stamford Bridge contract and then failed to make Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup squad leading to his retirement from the national team.

However, this hasn’t led to a shortage of offers being made to the experienced defender with Man United, Tottenham, Liverpool and a host of sides on the continent, all being linked with moves for the talented wide-man.

5. Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)

Croatian is looking for a new club having seen the upcoming arrival of Robert Lewandowski as something of a death knell to his Allianz Arena career and both Chelsea and Arsenal are hotly tipped to make an offer.

The 27 year old has scored goals aplenty during his two seasons at the Bavarian club but is not happy to play second fiddle to Bundesliga goal machine Lewandowski.

4. Luke Shaw (Southampton)

In-form teenager has the footballing world at his feet and a St Mary’s exit seems all the more likely following Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham switch.

Man United are said to be leading the chase for the left-back but Chelsea are also hot on the heels of the full-back who’s value could continue to sky-rocket if he forces his way into Roy Hodgson’s England starting eleven at the 2014 World Cup finals.

3. Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona)

Surprisingly the 27 year old Spanish international is apparently surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp and having become something of a scapegoat for this season’s failures the former Arsenal man could well be itching for a Premier League return.

Fabregas finished last season as Barcelona’s leading assist maker but must have grown frustrated at being hauled off by Gerard Martino on a regular basis and reportedly incoming boss Luis Enrique is willing to cash-in on the talented midfielder.

Man United and Arsenal appear to be leading the chase.

2. Adam Lallana (Southampton)

Another top Saints talent who is almost certain to follow Pochettino to the St Mary’s exit and the £30m rated midfielder looks most likely to move to Liverpool.

Both Tottenham and Chelsea could well take an interest in the 25 year old but the chance to act as a long term replacement for Steven Gerrard at the resurgent Anfield side could be tough to turn down.

1. Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

Has long been linked with a move to Chelsea and some sources claim that a deal to bring the Brazilian born Spanish international to Stamford Bridge is as good as done.

However many other sides will be pursuing the powerful forward who’s 36 goals in all competitions led Atletico Madrid to the La Liga title and the Champions League final.
