Barcelona have set their sights on Man City forward Sergio Aguero according to the Daily Star with the Nou Camp side confident they can land the Argentine for just €38m (£31m).

The La Liga side are set for a summer squad overhaul with new boss Luis Enrique keen to put his stamp on the Barcelona squad and whilst the Catalan giants may be interested in signing the 25 year old one wonders just why Man City would considering the former Atletico Madrid man, especially for a fee lower than they paid for the forward back in July 2011.

Aguero has proven a massive success since moving to the Etihad Stadium in a €45m (£38m) deal three years ago and has helped the club to two Premier League titles in his three seasons at the club, netting 75 goals in 122 appearances.

Clearly the big spending Premier League side have no financial necessity to cash-in on the prolific marksman and if Aguero did opt to demand a move to Barcelona he would cost a massive fee given his form and the fact that he is tied down to a long term contract.

Aguero is a good friend of Barcelona star Lionel Messi and the prospect of playing the two strikers alongside Neymar in a mouthwatering three pronged attack could well interest Enrique but it will take an offer way in excess of the bid quoted by this source to stand any chance of making such a dream a reality.
