Five Players Arsenal Should Sign To Win The Premier League Title Including Target Of Rivals Tottenham

How Wenger should improve his squad over the summer.

The 2013/14 season was a solid if unremarkable one for Arsenal, who finished fourth in the Premier League once again, but did break their trophy drought by winning the FA Cup.

However, after topping the English top tier for more days than any other side last term Arsene Wenger will be keen for his team to show more consistency and grit to hold onto a lead.

Therefore the Frenchman is expected to enter the transfer market this summer and sign a number of new players and here are the five CaughtOffside thinks will help Wenger’s men win the English title in 2014/15.

Serge Aurier, Toulouse

With Bacary Sagna having confirmed he is leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer when his contract expires, Wenger needs to find a new right-back – especially with question marks over the capabilities of backup Carl Jenkinson.

The 64-year-old has been looking at several alternatives, but having impressed in Ligue 1 over the past 12 months Aurier remains the priority.

Antoine Griezmann, Real Sociedad

In attacking midfield the club have several top-class options, including Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott, but support is always needed in the final third.

Griezmann has been making a big name for himself in Spain and netted 16 times in La Liga last campaign, despite operating primarily from the left flank.

Loic Remy, QPR

Beyond right-back the priority for Wenger in the transfer market has to be in attack, with the boss himself admitting there is too much pressure on Olivier Giroud.

With the north Londoners liking a bargain, snapping up Remy from Loftus Road for his £8m release fee would surely be appealing.

John Ruddy, Norwich City

As good as No.1 Wojciech Szczesny was between the posts last term, the loss of Lukasz Fabianski on a free transfer to Swansea City means a new goalkeeper is needed.

With Norwich relegated to the Championship it’s likely that Ruddy will jump at the chance to maintain his top flight status and compete with Szczesny for a place in the starting XI.

Morgan Schneiderlin, Southampton

With Mauricio Pochettino having taken the reigns at Tottenham Hotspur and Rickie Lambert joining Liverpool with Adam Lallana expected to follow in the coming days, the exodus from St Mary’s is rapidly increasing.

Therefore the chances of the Gunners landing Schneiderling and filling their defensive midfield role keep increasing day by day.
