10 players who could well be on their way to a White Hart Lane exit.
Tottenham are set for another busy summer as incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino looks to re-shuffle the squad he has inherited from former manager Tim Sherwood.
White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy will be keen to avoid spending massive sums in the transfer market having forked out £110m on new signings a year ago and as such the former Saints man will have to sell in order to boost his transfer pot.
The Daily Mirror has outlined ten players who will be made available by the Argentine.
Andros Townsend
England winger appeared to have the world at his feet mid-way through last season but a drop in form and injury concerns have set the 22 year old back a fair bit.
The wide-man has been linked with a move to Southampton where he could be used as bait as Pochettino looks to raid his former club.
Nacer Chadli
Belgian winger enjoyed a very average debut campaign at the north London club and though the 26 year old could claim he wasn’t offered a great many chances to prove himself his record of one goal and three assists from 24 Premier League fixtures is perhaps not enough to warrant a second campaign at Spurs.
Gylfi Sigurdsson
The Icelandic international was perhaps hopeful that the departure of Gareth Bale would boost his chances of regular first team action but it didn’t prove to be the case.
The cultured 24 year old five goals in 14 top tier starts but a move away for the former Hoffenheim man may be best for all concerned.
Lewis Holtby
German midfielder has undoubted ability but is seemingly surplus to requirements at Tottenham down to just how many other quality players are vying for the same first team berth.
Holtby did okay during his loan spell at Fulham and is likely to secure a move to either a Premier League or Bundesliga side.
Michael Dawson
Centre-back was not all that impressive last season but by no means the worst offender in this regard, QPR are said to be keen on landing the one time England man and Pochettino may feel he can afford to allow the 30 year old to leave the club.
Hugo Lloris
Not a player Pochettino would want to lose but a player this source believes could well be on his way out after Tottenham failed to secure a much coveted Champions League berth.
The French international had a superb season and was often left as the last line of defence with his back-line far too often committing suicidal errors. A move back to Ligue 1 could be a possibility.
Roberto Soldado
The Spaniard has wholly failed to deliver on his £26.5m price-tag and will be on his way just as soon as Tottenham secure a fair portion of that fee from a willing buyer.
Former Valencia man scored just six Premier League goals, four of which were from the penalty spot.
Jan Vertonghen
Belgian is another player who may feel he can do better, even though he ‘went missing’ for much of the final weeks of the campaign, seemingly already planning his White Hart Lane exit.
No doubt a fair few sides would be interested in the adaptable defender.
Etienne Capoue
One of a shed-load of central midfielders at Tottenham and almost certainly the one Pochettino can most easily do without.
The tough tackling Frenchman made just eight Premier League starts last term and seems likely to be set for the chop.
Paulinho
Another player Pochettino may not want to lose but a player this source claims looks set for a move away from the north London side, with Chelsea leading the race to sign the Brazilian international.
Expect the scramble for the 26 year old’s signature to increase when he returns from World Cup duty.
