Every single one of the teams that finished in the top half of the Premier League table last season are expected to bring in at least one star featuring at the World Cup this summer…

Here’s one signing for each of them!

Manchester City – Pepe (Portugal)

City badly need a new central defender to partner Vincent Kompany at the back, and Real Madrid’s Pepe has emerged as the favourite to complete a £25m move after Frenchman Eliaquim Mangala snubbed the Sky Blues. 

Liverpool – Rickie Lambert (England)

Liverpool have already completed a £4m deal to bring the ageing England international striker to Anfield ahead of next summer. He’s expected to be used as backup to Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

Chelsea – Cesc Fabregas (Spain)

Fabregas is expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge to replace the departing Frank Lampard. He’s technically brilliant, and will add much needed guile to Chelsea’s midfield.

Arsenal – Mario Balotelli (Italy)

The maverick AC Milan forward could return to the Premier League with the Gunners, for a potential fee of around £20m. 

Everton – Yacine Brahimi (Algeria)

The Toffees want Granada’s African midfield battler, and will send scouts to watch him this summer in Brazil. 

Tottenham – Ever Banega (Argentina)

Spurs’ new boss Mauricio Pochettino wants the midfield battler, who is also composed in possession.

Manchester United – Bastian Schweinsteiger (Germany)

The legendary German is a key target for new United boss Louis van Gaal, after previously working with the star at Bayern Munich.

Southampton – Javier Hernandez ( Mexico)

The Saints want to take advantage of Hernandez’s lack of first-team football at Old Trafford, and bring him to St. Mary’s.

Stoke City – Kim Young-gwon (South Korea)

His manager at club level for Gangzhou in China, Marcelo Lippi, claimed that the central defender had the qualities to play for Manchester United, but a Premier League move to a mis-table side could be more realistic.

Newcastle United – Loic Remy (France)

Newcastle would love to sign Remy permanently after the Frenchman shone last term on loan, but he’s more likely to join Champions League qualifiers Arsenal.
