And should the offer be genuine, it will surely put an end to any potential interest that the former Premier League champions help in the 24-year-old as they would not be able to compete with the Spaniards awesome spending power.

Bild, who take their lead from Spanish paper El Confidential, go on to highlight that Bayern have only offered Kroos a contract extension in which his gross salary will be improved to somewhere between €4-6m a year.

But Real’s offer is €5m after tax, making them the much better, more lucrative option and leaving United for dust as their offer would reach nowhere near that number.

Odds have now been slashed on Kroos joining the Champions League winners as he is known to be looking to leave Bayern Munich after a personally disappointing campaign under Pep Guardiola.
