Manchester United are set to offer Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie a lucrative offer in a bid to tempt him away from the De Kuip and link up with national team boss Louis Van Gaal at the club, according to El Confidencial.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to United for several weeks now, and it has been widely reported that he will follow LVG to the club after the World Cup.
The Netherlands kick off their World Cup campaign against Spain on Friday night, with the Feyenoord man expected to start the game in the centre of midfield.
El Confidencial take Clasie’s purported inclusion to reflect just how highly future Man United boss van Gaal rates him, and moreover as evidence that “van Gaal will undertake to bring him to Manchester United after the World Cup”.
The Spanish paper claims that Clasie is high on United’s transfer wish list, and though his current side don’t want to let him go they may be ready to concede that his future lies elsewhere.
The paper the goes on to say that United will offer a ‘good amount of money to ensure that he makes his way to the Premier League next month.
