The Top 10 Biggest Transfers Of The Summer Including Luis Suarez And £30m Arsenal And Manchester United Targets

The most expensive deals that we expect to happen in the close season.

With the transfer rumour mill up and running now there are a number of high profile players being linked with big money moves during the close season.

Here are the 10 biggest deals that could be completed.

10. Alexis Sanchez

Since arriving at FC Barcelona from Udinese in 2011 this Chile international has found obtaining regular game time hard to come by – although Sanchez did score 19 La Liga goals and provide 10 assists in 2013/14.

The 25-year-old wants more regular first team football and Juventus are willing to bring him back to Serie A, whilst Arsenal and Liverpool are also keeping tabs.

9. Ivan Rakitic

Despite Brendan Rodgers having shown interest in the past there seems to be but one destination for this Sevilla midfielder and that is the Nou Camp.

Rakitic had a brilliant year for Sevilla last season as his goals and assists helped them to their third Europa League triumph in nine years.

8. Mario Mandzukic

The arrival of Robert Lewandowski at Bayern Munich this summer from rivals Borussia Dortmund was always going to put Mandzukic’s place in the side under threat.

Yet having since fallen out with the hierarchy at the Allianz Arena as well it seems certain the striker will be on the move and AC Milan, AS Monaco and Chelsea are all keen.

7. Luke Shaw

Even though Shaw is an 18-year-old and has much less experience than every other player on this list, the price-tag of the teenager makes his potential transfer significant.

The Southampton left-back is expected to cost any potential buyer £30m, with Manchester United leading the way currently.

6. Toni Kroos

There aren’t many Bayern players that haven’t been linked with a transfer this summer, but with Kroos entering the final year of his current contract the Germany international is among the more likely to leave.

The 24-year-old is a superb and versatile midfielder, who although has turned down a move to the Red Devils could be more tempted by Real Madrid.

5. Cesc Fabregas

With Rakitic heading to Catalonia the future of Fabregas at the club remains in doubt and the Spain international looks ready for a £30m departure.

The 27-year-old’s previous side Arsenal have rejected the chance to re-sign him, but Chelsea and United are thought to be keen.

4. Karim Benzema

Like a number of others on this list Madrid have somewhat inexplicably allowed Benzema to enter the final year of his current deal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The France international has been in good form since a £30m move from Olympique Lyon in 2010, but could be allowed to leave if Los Blancos sign a replacement striker.

3. Diego Costa

This is another deal that looks as good as done as Chelsea are said to have completed a medical with the striker ahead of a £32m transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Costa scored 37 goals in all competitions for Atletico Madrid last term as the Spaniards won La Liga and reached the Champions League final for the first time in their history.

2. David Luiz

Unlike Rakitic and Costa this deal has actually been confirmed by the player’s current club – the Blues – and when Luiz finally completes his medical and agrees to personal terms the defender will become Paris Saint-Germain’s new £40m star.

The 27-year-old will join national counterpart Thiago Silva in central defence at the Parc des Princes in a partnership that will have cost almost £80m.

1. Luis Suarez

After a PFA Player of the Year winning season with Liverpool in which the Uruguay international scored 31 Premier League goals in 33 games, only one club could afford to pay Suarez’s transfer fee – Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old is considered to be among the best players in the world and is likely to fetch somewhere between £70m and £80m.
