These six Arsenal players are not needed at the Emirates anymore, and in all likelihood, the ones that haven’t been moved on already will follow the likes of Bacary Sagna and Lukasz Fabianski out of the club…

1) Lukasz Fabianski

Arsenal’s no.2 goalkeeper chose not to renew his contract with Arsenal, wanting to move and play the first-team football his ability warrants. He’s signed for Swansea as a result, and the Gunners will have a job on their hands to bring in as solid an understudy.

2) Bacary Sagna

Sagna has signed a £140,000k per week contract at Manchester City, leaving Arsenal, whom he joined in 2007. The Frenchman was one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers on the right of their defence, and fans will be desperately unhappy that he’s joined a rival on a free transfer fee.

3) Nicklas Bendtner

The Danish forward is completely surplus to requirements at the Emirates. He neither has the pace nor the technical ability to trouble defenders at the highest level – and most fans will be pleased to see the back of the controversial forward.

4) Thomas Vermaelen

Manchester United and Fiorentina are expected to battle for the Belgian, who is the only player on this list who would command any kind of significant transfer fee for Arsenal. With Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker occupying the centre-back spots at Arsenal, the Gunners might be smart to move him on.

5) Ryo Miyaichi

Miyaichi was rated as one of Arsenal’s most exciting young players, but he’s never fulfilled it. Loan spells at Bolton and in Holland were unsuccesful – and it’s high time he was sold permanently.

6) Abou Diaby

At one point Diaby provided a powerful box-to-box Premier League influence. However, injuries have totally ruined his promised, and the club will no doubt be keen to offload his £60k-per-week wages to any side that would have him. With one more year on his contract though, the player could choose to run his deal down until summer 2015.
