Faces familiar to Spurs, QPR and Chelsea fans also feature as Mexico take on Cameroon.

The starting XIs have been announced for this evening’s Group A match between Mexico and Cameroon at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

A host of former Premier League players are among the 22 that will be on the Arena das Dunas pitch come kick off.

Charles Itandje, who was on Liverpool’s books for three years, starts in goal for Cameroon, while Tottenham Hotspur’s Benoit Assou-Ekotto will play at left-back.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia also starts, alongside ex Arsenal star Alex Song.

Samuel Eto’o, who was released by Chelsea after just one season at Stamford Bridge, captains Cameroon and leads their attacking line.

Meanwhile, Giovani dos Santos is in Mexico’s starting XI, but Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez only makes the bench.
