The club’s record signing endured a difficult first season in the Premier League after struggling with a series of injuries and failing to find form once fit.
Lamela had been tipped to make an exit from the club over the summer, but Pochettino has sought the 21-year-old out for talks to assure him that he is very much a part of his plans for the upcoming campaign.
The former Roma man is currently back in his native Argentina where he is working on his fitness in a bid to hit the ground running straight away next term.
Tottenham and Pochettino seem determined to make his big-money move from Roma work next season and the club are hopeful that he will be able to make a good show of himself during their pre-season regime.
Last term Lamela made just 17 appearances across all competitions, bagging just one goal in the process.
