10) Neymar – Brazil – 3 dribbles completed per match
It’s no surprise to see the brilliant Brazilian on this list. Neymar scored two goals last night during the first game of the tournament – and is known for his exceptionally quick feet. There’s few more exciting sights in world football than Neymar running at a defender.
9) Arjen Robben – Holland – 3 dribbles completed per match
Another world-class winger in this top 10, Robben starts from the right wing, and can either beat his fullback on the outside, or cut in and shoot on his brilliant left.
8) Admir Mehmedi – Switzerland – 3.5 dribbles completed per match
Mehmedi plays for Freiburg in the Bundesliga, and scored 12 goals last term. He’ll likely start for his country during the World Cup as a result.
7) Mario Gotze – Germany – 3.5 dribbles completed per match
The German magician won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich last term – and could be deployed either as a false 9 or a more traditional attacking midfielder for Joachin Loew’s side this summer.
6) Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting – Cameroon – 3.6 dribbles completed per match
The Mainz man reached double figures for Bundesliga goals, despite starting from the left wing. Choupo-Moting will be one of Cameroon’s most exciting players this summer, looking to provide Vincent Aboubakar in the centre.
5) Juan Guillermo Cuadrado – Colombia – 3.7 dribbles completed per match
The Fiorentina man is interesting Juventus and Barcelona following his excellent Serie A campaign – but both clubs are waiting for La Viola to buy out the rest of his contract from Udinese first.
4) Eden Hazard – Belgium – 3.8 dribbles completed per match
Hazard loves to pick up the ball on the left wing, and drive through the midfield into the opposition penalty area. He’s already one of the best in Europe, and will be looking to assert himself on the World Cup with Belgium.
3) Julian Draxler – Germany – 4.1 dribbles completed per match
The German wonderkid is unlikely to be selected as a starter by Joachim Loew, but his ability is unquestioned. Draxler’s very skilful with the ball at his feet, and his pace is underrated.
2) Lionel Messi – Argentina – 4.6 dribbles completed per match
Messi’s possibly the best dribbler to ever grace the game. His close control os unrivalled, as his burst of speed from a standstill position. A pure joy to watch, on his day.
1) Yacine Brahimi – Algeria – 4.7 dribbles completed per match
Out on top is the little known Algerian Brahimi! The Granada man only contributed three goals and three assists apiece last term – but will be the man his country turns to for inspiration this summer.
