Arsenal Target Could Be AS Monaco-Bound As Clubs Prepare Striker Swap Deal

Monaco could hijack Arsenal move for Milan star.

Monaco could beat Arsenal to the signing of AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli as they prepare a sensational swap deal involving Radamel Falcao, according to the Daily Express.

The Gunners are known to be in the market for new signings upfront this summer after relying heavily on the performances of Olivier Giroud in 2013/14, with little in the way of backup options in Arsene Wenger’s squad.

Arsenal have been linked with several big names in that position, with former Manchester City man Balotelli emerging as one of their more ambitious targets, though Ligue 1 big-spenders Monaco now look the favourites to win the race for his signature this summer.

With Colombian front-man Falcao seemingly unhappy in France, it looks as though he will be offered to Milan as part of a deal that would also see the troubled Balotelli leave – a move that would suit both parties entirely.

This deal would also affect Chelsea, who have long been linked as admirers of Falcao, though they at least have plans in place to sign Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid, while Arsenal are yet to make significant progress in the transfer market this year.

Monaco have also been linked with another Arsenal target, Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic.
