Despite both hosts Brazil and Mexico having now played two matches in the 2014 World Cup, Group H contenders Russia and South Korea are just starting their campaign.

This should be a fairly evenly matched game as these two sides will both be hoping to take an early advantage in a pool that also contains Algeria and supposed dark horses Belgium.

Fabio Capello’s Russians are the slight favourites heading into the match and the Italian manager will be hoping to emulate his success from the 2010 World Cup when he guided England to the last-16.

However, the nation will be without their captain and midfield general Roman Shirokov, who is absent with an Achilles injury and Pavel Mogilevets has taken his place in the squad.

Meanwhile Dynamo Moscow striker Aleksandr Kokorin is expected to start up front instead of Zenit St. Petersburg’s Aleksandr Kerzhakov.

For the South Koreans this is their eighth straight World Cup tournament and they will be hoping to emulate the success of 2002, when they reached the semi-finals on home soil.

There are a few familiar faces in their squad for the Premier League fans and Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng  is expected to be in the XI, whilst former Arsenal striker Park Chu-Young will start upfront alongside Bayer Leverkusen’s Son Heung-Min.
