Belgian striker Lukaku has been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge this summer with a host of clubs all vying for his signature. Tottenham are in the mix, but as it stands he currently has an offer from Spanish side Atletico Madrid that trumps the offers from elsewhere.
There is plenty of interest notably from Everton, Roma, Wolfsburg and Juventus while West Ham have already been turned down in a bid to take him on loan.
Spurs are currently willing to listen to offers for misfiring pair Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado this summer, after they both struggled to make the desired impact last season and new boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be firmly in the market for some renewed firepower.
With that in mind, the Argentine is aware that Lukaku, his first choice, will be difficult to bring on board, meaning he has had to seek out an alternative, which has led him to the Swansea star.
Swansea are aware of the interest in Bony, and They have placed a price tag of around £19m on the Ivory Coast international and will hold out for that after paying £12m in the first place.
