Gunners star becomes 10th German to reach 100 senior caps. He’s got way more than you Mesut!

Arsenal centre-back Per Mertesacker will reach the milestone of 100 senior international appearances for Germany tonight.

The 29-year-old, who made his debut for Die Mannschaft in 2004, has been included in Joachim Low’s starting XI for this evening’s FIFA World Cup Group G clash with Ghana in Fortaleza.

Low has named an unchanged team following Monday’s 4-0 win over Portugal.

Ghana lost their opening game 2-1 to the USA. Kevin-Prince Boateng began that match on the bench, but he starts tonight and will lineup against his brother Jerome, who plays as a defender for Germany.

Jerome Boateng is one of six Bayern Munich players in Germany’s XI.

Germany XI: Neuer, Howedes, Hummels, Boateng, Mertesacker; Lahm, Khedira, Ozil, Kroos, Muller, Gotze.

Ghana XI: Dauda, Afful, Mensah, Boye, Asamoah, Rabiu, Muntari, Boateng, Atsu, A. Ayew, Gyan.
