As the clamour for Uruguayan goal machine Luis Suarez grows ever greater here are five striker Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers should target if they are unable to keep hold of the Anfield star.
Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
Free of Gonzalo Higuain’s competition the French international had an excellent campaign at the Bernabeu side last term, netting 24 goals in all competitions and providing assists aplenty whilst continuing that fine run of form at the World Cup with the French national team.

Still only 26 years of age and a player with the physical presence to make a real impact in the Premier League, such a move for Rodgers would be all the more plausible if it was Real Madrid who Suarez left for this summer.
Benzema has over 200 goals to his name for club and country and may be tempted by a move to the English top tier and would probably cost a small portion of the sum Liverpool would acquire from a Suarez sale.
