Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia has said that it is his dream to play under Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Mbia, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla, is currently a free agent after being released by QPR.

Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton have both been linked with Mbia, but the 28-year-old sounds like he would much prefer to stay in West London.

According to the Daily Star, Mbia told Sky Sports Italia: “My dream is to be coached by Mourinho and I hope this will become a reality in the future.

“I want to play in the Champions League in the future, even though I’d stick to Sevilla because they have done a lot for me.

“Next year I want to try to win something, maybe the Champions League, but I do not know where.”

Mbia played 19 La Liga games for Sevilla last season, playing mainly in defensive midfielder. He scored three goals and provided four assists.

He made eight further appearances and scored two more goals in the Europa League, which Sevilla won by beating Benfica in a penalty shootout in the final.

Mbia has been capped 49 by Cameroon at senior international level.

He has played the full 90 minutes in both of his country’s games at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, where they have suffered defeats to Mexico and Croatia.

Mbia has been used as a right-back at the World Cup. He can also operate at centre half.

Prior to joining QPR in 2012, he played for Marseille, with whom he won the Ligue 1 title in 2010.
