Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge uploaded a slightly surreal video to his Instagram page showing himself feeling sad after his side’s early World Cup exit.
The 24-year-old can be seen sipping an exotic drink by the beach in Brazil whilst pulling a visibly sad facial expression, alongside the message: “Clearing my mind.. I’m sure I’ll feel like this for a long time. This feeling is going to drive me on. God willing to the next level… #love”.
Sturridge scored in England’s defeat to Italy in their first game in Group D, but his Liverpool team-mate Luis Suarez stole the show in the match against Uruguay, as his brace all but sealed the Three Lions’ exit from the tournament.
