Despite having already completed a deal for Cesc Fabregas this summer, Chelsea are ambitiously targeting prodigal young French midfielder Paul Pogba as well, reports Goal.

The 21-year-old is currently on duty with his country at the World Cup, but Jose Mourinho’s men are expected to step up their pursuit of his services after the tournament, and make Juventus an enormous offer – potentially of up to £60m.

If they do manage to pull off the transfer coup, here’s how Jose Mourinho may choose to line up his side next term…

GK) Thibaut Courtois

It’s looking increasingly likely that young Courtois will be starting between the sticks foe Chelsea next season, with him likely to be given the chance at Stamford Bridge his performances on loan at Atletico Madrid have deserved.

DR) Cesar Azpilicueta

We reckon the Blues will sign a new left-back, meaning Spanish international Azpilicueta can move over to his more natural position on the right of defence, with Branislav Ivanovic providing more than ample competition.

DC) John Terry

The club captain signed a one year contract extension at the beginning of the summer, and will skipper his lead his defence once again in 2014/15.

DC) Gary Cahill

Cahill’s form last term meant the Blues were happy to sell David Luiz to PSG for £40m, and the Englishman will reform the best centre-back pairing in the country from last season alongside Terry.

DL) Filipe Luis

The Brazilian left-back is expected to complete a £19m move from Atletico Madrid, as the Spanish champions have already secured his replacement from Granada.

MC) Nemanja Matic

Expect the superb Serbian to provide Chelsea’s midfield with the platform from which his teammates can perform. He’s combative, and his physicality is suited perfectly to English football.

MC) Cesc Fabregas

The Spaniard has already signed for around £27m, and will inject a creative spark into the centre of the part that was occasionally missing at times last term.

MC) Paul Pogba

Pogba could be the final piece of the Chelsea jigsaw. While his potential transfer fee would be astronomical, his box-to-box influence, and defensive and offensive contribution would seemingly fit perfectly alongside Fabregas and Matic – and the thought of these three forming a midfield triumvirate next term is incredibly exciting.

AMR) Oscar/Willian

Both these Brazilians are heavily admired by Mourinho, who appreciates the combination of their work ethic and their superb technical ability.

AML) Eden Hazard

The phenomenally gifted Belgian is still only 23-years-old, but already rated as one of the very best in the world in his position. He can score and create goals – and will look to supply imminent striker signing Diego Costa with exemplary service.

FC) Diego Costa

The Spanish hitman is expected to wrap up a £32m deal shortly, with Borussia Dortmund’s Gabonese international Pierre Emerick Aubameyang potentially arriving as backup.
