Southampton Look To Spend Big On Eredivisie Duo

Ronald Koeman is looking to spend some of his club’s windfalls on Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic.

The extent to new Southampton manager Ronald Koeman’s involvement in the transfer market so far has been to watch his best players leave, with at least playmaker Adam Lallana expected to follow teenage left back Luke Shaw out of the door.

It seems as though the Dutchman is finally getting the chance to spend some of the Saints’ cash windfalls, however, with the Telegraph reporting that Southampton are interested in Eredivisie duo Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic.

Feyenoord striker Pelle has, incredibly, scored 50 Eredivisie goals in less than 60 matches for Koeman’s former club, but the Saints will be wary of former striking flops from the Dutch league such as one-time Middlesbrough man Afonso Alves.

The former Lecce and AZ Alkmaar target man would not break the bank, however, and the potential rewards are enormous, although he is 28 so would be expected to produce immediately rather than in the future.

Whilst Pelle would be replacing striker Rickie Lambert, who has signed for Liverpool, Serbian international Dusan Tadic from FC Twente would be more of a direct replacement for silky attacking midfielder Lallana.

The 25 year-old has been a fine performer in the Eredivisie since signing for FC Groningen from Vojvodina in his homeland, going on to establish himself as one of the league’s finest attacking players since signing for overachievers Twente.
