The tough tackling St Mary’s midfielder may well be ready to leave the south-coast side given the number of others who have done so this summer but should Mauricio Pochettino look to bring more bite to his Tottenham side then he may want to first consider offloading one or more of the following; Sandro, Etienne Capoue, Paulinho, Nabil Bentaleb and Moussa Dembele.

9. Michel Vorm (Swansea City)

A move for the Dutch keeper is presumably only an option should Tottenham fail to retain keeper Hugo Lloris and there is every chance the French international would be considering a move away from the north London side following their inability to secure a Champions League spot.

8. Tim Krul (Newcastle United)

Another possible goalkeeper signing and another Dutch custodian who could feel he should be playing for a side nearer the top of the Premier League table. The Magpies man may be disillusioned with life at St James’ Park having seen owner Mike Ashley sell a number of top talents in recent seasons.

7. Loic Remy (QPR)

Loftus Road ace has been on the White Hart Lane radar for some time and Pochettino will continue to track possible goal-scoring additions. French international has a number of suitors but may feel that a move to Tottenham offers the best chance of regular first team football for a side likely to be in or around the top six next term.

6. Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid)

Young Real Madrid man is rightly considered one of the hottest prospects in European football but has rarely been given the chance to impress in the Bernabeu starting eleven and could be considering his options. Mauricio Pochettino has few effective striking options given Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela’s failures and the Argentine may feel Morata has the potential to be a big hit whilst also able to make an immediate impact.

5. Hector Moreno (Espanyol)

Mexican centre-back could offer Tottenham a strong defensive option with the north London side struggling at the back last season. The 26 year old has impressed during three seasons in La Liga and would be a relatively inexpensive option for Pochettino to consider.

4. Eseban Cambiasso (Inter Milan)

Veteran Argentine is set to be released by Inter Milan after over a decade of service to the San Siro side and Mauricio Pochettino may fancy a move for a fellow countryman who has the experience to strengthen the Tottenham midfield, albeit not a long term option.

3. Memphis Depay (PSV Eindhoven)

With wingers Aaron Lennon, Andros Townsend and Nacer Chadli all struggling for form in 2013/14 it makes a great deal of sense to target fresh wide-attacking options and this PSV Eindhoven youngster is an up and coming talent with great potential, hence him being dubbed the ‘Dutch Cristiano Ronaldo’.

2. Ben Davies (Swansea City)

Welsh full-back is apparently closing in on a move to Tottenham where he could be the long awaited solution to something of a problem area. Mauricio Pochettino clearly sees the young Liberty Stadium star as a better option than Danny Rose and will look to make the Swansea City man his first signing as White Hart Lane boss.

1. Dejan Lovren (Southampton)

Rock solid Croatian is said to be keen on a move away from Southampton and has been hotly tipped to get his wish this summer and a move to Tottenham would appear distinctly likely and Mauricio Pochettino, who signed the tough tackler when in charge at St Mary’s, is keen to repeat the trick to help beef up his back-line.
