Arsenal have reportedly made a £32m bid for Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez according to Goal.com.

The offer meets the Nou Camp side’s valuation of their 25 year old star and now the north London side must convince the Chilean to move to the Emirates Stadium with there being apparent interest from Liverpool and talk of the former Udinese man being used as bait in Barcelona’s move for disgraced Uruguayan Luis Suarez.

Sanchez had his most productive Barcelona season to date in 2013/14, scoring 19 La Liga goals in 27 starts, before continuing that good form in Brazil.

The adaptable forward can play either out wide or in a central role and will offer some much needed goal-scoring support to overworked Frenchman Olivier Giroud.

Barcelona signed Sanchez in July 2011 after he has impressed during a three season spell in Serie A but it appears, much like Chelsea bound midfielder Cesc Fabregas, he doesn’t appear to be part of new manager Luis Enrique’s plans.

Arsenal overly relied upon Olivier Giroud in a striking role last season and whilst Sanchez is often used out wide he may be seen more as player to challenge the Frenchman for the central forward role.
