The Chilean international has become one of the most sought after summer transfers this year after it was announced that Barcelona would be willing to listen to offers for him and his performances for his national team have thrust him into the limelight once again.
The 25-year-old was thought to be on his way to Liverpool as part of the Luis Suarez deal, but reports this week have suggested that Arsenal are interested in making a £32m offer of their own.
Sanchez himself is thought to prefer a move to Arsenal, but Groves believes Arsene Wenger will miss out on the player as he nears a switch to Liverpool instead.
“Alex Sanchez would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal,” he said.
“He fits their remit. He’s very good technically and has an excellent attitude.
“I think he’ll go to Liverpool though. He’ll be part of the deal that takes Luis Suarez to Barcelona.”
