Five Simply ‘Untransferable’ Players, With Liverpool Wonderkid & Arsenal’s Welsh Wizard

No matter the price, these players are not for sale!

Although every player has a price, for the amount of money it would take to convince certain clubs of selling certain players, some stars are logistically ‘untransferable’ right now, in our eyes.

Here’s ten players in world football who are all excellent, but have virtually zero chance of leaving their current clubs, because they’re happy, playing well, fan favourites, and would command unrealistically excessive money!

5) Raheem Sterling – Liverpool

The 19-year-old is contracted until 2017, and after establishing himself as arguably the world’s best teenager right now, it’s unfathomable that Liverpool would even entertain an offer for their talented attacker. Sterling owes so much to Brendan Rodgers, who gave him his debut, and knows how to get the best of the English prodigy as well. Sterling’s only a teenager, but his children live on Merseyside – so a life-changing move to Real Madrid or Barcelona (some of the only clubs who could afford a hypothetical fee) would be inconvenient for the player. Sterling will continue his development at Anfield for the foreseeable future.

4) Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal

The Welshman extended his contract at the Emirates until 2019, when he’ll be 28-years-old, and if Arsenal fans get their wish – with a few more trophies under his belt! Ramsey’s grown at Arsenal into one of the country’s best midfielders, and if injuries hadn’t curtailed last season, he’d possibly have challenged Luis Suarez for the Player of the Year crown. Arsenal have sold star players in recent years, such as Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri – but you feel if they flogged Ramsey, many fans would find it hard to forgive the club. Ramsey is happy at the Emirates, and he won’t be moving anywhere.

3) Adnan Januzaj – Manchester United

Manchester United will keep hold of their Belgian wonderkid at all costs. Januzaj is contracted to the club until 2018, and the Old Trafford hierarchy hope the playmaker will develop into one of the most exciting attacking midfielders in the world. Januzaj’s talent is precocious, and there’s no way the Red Devils will allow him to fulfil it elsewhere, having seen Paul Pogba’s rise at Juventus, having released the Frenchman in 2011.

2) Gary Cahill – Chelsea

The Englishman is arguably the first-name on Jose Mourinho’s team sheet at Chelsea. Mourinho selected Cahill ahead of Brazilian international first-choice David Luiz last term, so it’s clear how highly the Portuguese maverick rates him. Cahill’s defensive traits fit in perfectly with Mourinho’s blueprint for the perfect centre-back – because he’s physical, commanding, consistent, aerially strong, no-nonsense, and brave. Aged 28, Cahill has at least four years left at the very top – and once John Terry hangs up his boots, Cahill could well be given the captaincy.

1) Vincent Kompany – Manchester City

Kompany has skippered City to two titles in the past three years, and is the first name on their team sheet. The fans love him, and because of City’s virtually incomparable financial position, they wouldn’t feel the need to sell for even the most astronomical fee. It almost wouldn’t feel right if Kompany wasn’t playing for City – and with the player himself desperate for Champions League glory with the Sky Blues, he has unfinished business at the Etihad anyway.
