Spanish football journalist Kike Marin has claimed that Arsenal have submitted an offer for Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, which will no doubt worry Liverpool fans greatly, who have been greatly excited about the possibility of their side picking up the Chilean as part of the potential Luis Suarez deal.

If they cannot secure Sanchez, manager Brendan Rodgers will surely still be on the prowl for wing-forwards who can support Raheem Sterling at Anfield, with a Champions League campaign to prepare for.

Here’s five he should consider…

5) Juan Cuadrado – Fiorentina

Manchester United have already made a £32m bid for the excellent Colombian, who is shining at this summer’s World Cup. Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also interested, meaning the Reds will face a huge task to secure the 26-year-old winger. It could be worth it though, with Cuadrado bagging 11 Serie A goals last term. He can play in any number of attacking positions, and has even been known to play at wing-back.

4) Xherdan Shaqiri – Bayern Munich

Another player starring in Brazil this summer, Shaqiri scored a hat-trick for Switzerland against Honduras – outlining his ability to those who already were not aware of it. He can play in a number of attacking midfield positions, and his tactical flexibility will suit Brendan Rodgers. Notably, the Bayern Munich man has been continually linked this summer.

3) Yevhen Konoplyanka – Dnipro

Liverpool so nearly signed the Ukrainian back in January, and Rodgers could move back in for him this summer. Konoplyanka prides himself on his quick feet out on the left wing, where he usually likes to cut in and shoot on goal on his powerful right foot. The 24-year-old’s agent fuelled rumours of a potential move in April.

2) Divock Origi – Lille

The deal for the 19-year-old Belgian ace is all but done, and Origi is expected to move to Anfield after his finishes his World Cup duties. His talent is incredible, and showed last term with Lille that he can do a job on the left, or up top. If Suarez leaves, Origi could stay at Anfield rather than being sent immediately on loan.

1) Pedro – Barcelona

If the Reds miss out Alexis Sanchez, maybe they could move for his Barcelona teammate Pedro instead. Liverpool were linked back in May, and although the Catalan club would likely rather keep hold of their home grown winger – the potential arrival of Luis Suarez could make him surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.
