New suitors for Chile’s World Cup star.
Manchester City are the latest club to show an interest in signing Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Chilean international has been attracting plenty of interest this summer after his fine recent performances for club and country, with Barcelona seemingly willing to sell him for around £32m.
The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been strongly linked with the 25-year-old attacker, while there has also been talk that Liverpool could look to sign him as part of their deal to sell Luis Suarez to the Catalan giants.
Still, City are also in the market for new attacking players, with Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria also emerging as a target for Manuel Pellegrini, while key forwards Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo have also been linked with exits in recent times.
Sanchez would no doubt be a top-quality addition for the Premier League champions, and it may be that he would relish the chance to work under his fellow countryman Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium next season.
Some reports suggest that Arsenal would be Sanchez’s preferred destination, but City will be hoping to persuade him to join the numerous other world class stars at the club as they look to fight for more trophies again in 2014/15.
