Manchester United Transfer Rumours: Juventus Swap Deal On The Cards, Duo Linked With Old Trafford Misfit, Winger Could Leave For £7m

Round-up of today’s Man Utd transfer stories.

Manchester United told to pay £45m plus Nani for Arturo Vidal

Juventus have told Manchester United to pay as much as £45m plus offer winger Nani in exchange for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to the Daily Star.

The 27-year-old has been one of the best midfielders in the world in recent years, and it is thought that new United manager Louis van Gaal wants him to line up alongside recent new signing Ander Herrera in the middle of the park next season.

This move would see Vidal become the Red Devils’ club-record signing, as well as bidding farewell to Nani after seven years at Old Trafford.

United misfit rejected Southampton offer

Manchester United backup striker Javier Hernandez is reported to have rejected the chance to sign for Southampton during the two clubs’ negoations over Luke Shaw, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 18-year-old left-back completed a £33m move to United earlier this summer, but Hernandez was not keen to make the move in the other direction, seeing the Saints as something of a step down.

It is thought that Southampton manager Ronald Koeman may try again for the 26-year-old Mexican international, as he looks to spend the money brought in from the sales of Shaw, as well as Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.

Hernandez may also have Atletico Madrid offer

Atletico Madrid are another of Javier Hernandez’s possible suitors this summer, as Fichajes.net reports that the Spanish champions see him as a possible replacement for Chelsea new-boy Diego Costa.

Diego Simeone’s side have been linked with a number of possible signings upfront following Costa’s departure, and Hernandez is seemingly in contention as moves for the likes of Alvaro Negredo and Romelu Lukaku don’t seem to have materialised.

The former Guadalajara forward could be open to a move to the Vicente Calderon after finding first-team opportunities limited at Old Trafford in recent times.

Newcastle linked with £7m Zaha bid

Newcastle United could be in line to snap up unsettled Manchester United youngster Wilfried Zaha, with the Daily Mirror claiming he could be allowed to leave the club for just £7m.

The England international has not lived up to expectations at Old Trafford following his £15m move from Crystal Palace last year, and could be on the way out of the club quickly as the Magpies step up their interest.

Zaha spent the second half of last season on loan with Cardiff City, and still failed to impress as the Welsh side were relegated from the Premier League.

No Manchester United bids for Carvalho

The chairman of Sporting Lisbon has denied that Manchester United have made an offer for exciting young midfielder William Carvalho, according to Sky Sports.

The Portuguese starlet is valued at around £37m by his club, and reports had suggested that the Red Devils had matched that asking price in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford this summer.

However, Sporting’s chairman Bruno De Carvalho is quoted as saying: “We haven’t received any formal or informal proposals for any of our players.”
