Real Madrid To Offer Arsenal Target In Exchange Deal For Colombian World Cup Star

Real offer Monaco options in player exchange deal.

Check in to Brazil vs Germany

Arsenal target Alvaro Morata is among the Real Madrid players on offer to AS Monaco as the Spanish giants look to sign Colombian World Cup star James Rodriguez, according to Fichajes.com.

The 22-year-old winger was one of the stand-out players at this summer’s 2014 finals in Brazil, and remains the leading scorer in the competition with six goals despite Colombia’s quarter-final exit to Brazil last week.

His fine form for his country has seen a number of top clubs show an interest, and Real are ready to step up their efforts to bring him to the Bernabeu by offering one of Morata, Fabio Coentrao or Casemiro in return.

Having spent £35m on Rodriguez just last summer, Monaco are determined not to let the South American starlet leave for cheap, and Real hope that the offer of a player in return can lower the Ligue 1 side’s demands slightly.

The Champions League winners also hope that the sale of Angel Di Maria can help raise funds to bring in Rodriguez, which has sparked interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Morata has also been targeted by English sides before, being linked with Arsenal at points this summer, though he may now be out of reach for the Gunners.
