Liverpool Transfer Gossip: Reds Close In On Double Swoop, Suarez Deal Hits Snag And Rodgers Drops Out Of Sanchez Chase Plus More

All of Tuesday’s transfer rumours involving Liverpool.

Luis Suarez deal to Barcelona hits snag

Luis Suarez’s £75 million move to Barcelona has hit the bumpers after the two clubs struggle to agree terms following a number of disputes and disagreements, the Daily Star reports.

Liverpool are keen to land the full sum up front, while the Spanish side are hoping to do the deal in instalments instead.

And there are complications with two of Barca’s other stars which is holding up the chain of events that need to kick into place to make the deal happen.

Reds concede defeat in Alexis Sanches chase

Liverpool have seemingly given up on signing Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez after failing to convince him to head to Anfield, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Reds had hoped they could include the player as a part of the deal that would see Luis Suarez head in the opposite direction.

However, he and his family have their hearts set on a move to London instead.

Reds close in on double swoop to take spending over £70m

Liverpool are closing in on a double deal to sign Benfica’s Lazar Markovic and Lille’s Divock Origi that will send their summer spending over the £70 million barrier, Sky Sports reports.

Brendan Rodgers is set to wrap up the deal to sign the Serbian midfielder after being a long time admirer.

Meanwhile, Rodgers can also finalise a move for Origi after Belgium were eliminated from the World Cup last week, though he may be loaned straight back to Lille.

Saints demand £25m for Croatian defender

Southampton have told Liverpool they must stump up £25m if they hope to sign defender Dejan Lovren, according to the Daily Star.

The Reds had made a £20m offer for the former Lyon man, but Southampton have rejected their approach after already losing Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana to the club.

New boss Ronald Koeman is keen to hang on to as many of his remaining stars as possible, but will play hardball should they attract anymore suitors.

Liverpool hand Welsh international Harry Wilson first pro contract

Liverpool have secured the future of young midfielder Harry Wilson by handing him his first professional contract, the Daily Mirror reports.

The 17-year-old has yet to make an appearance for the Liverpool first team, but has already beaten Gareth Bale’s record of being the youngest player to feature for Wales.

Wilson took to Twitter to confirm the deal saying: “Delighted to have signed my first professional contract with Liverpool Football Club.”
