Evra departs for Juventus as United close in on Vidal
Patrice Evra’s impending move to Juventus could see Arturo Vidal moving in the opposite direction.
The French full-back has all but completed a £2m move to the Italian champions, just a month after signing a new contract at Old Trafford. Luke Shaw will take over the left-back role at United, with the Manchester-club targeting Swiss defender Ricardo Rodriguez as a potential back-up.
Daily Express reports suggest that the Evra deal could be an encouraging sign for United’s proposed £32m move for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal, with Italian sources reporting that the player is now close to leaving the club.
Elsewhere, United are closing in on a £75m double swoop for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels – The Metro.
However, Louis van Gaal opted to pull the plug on a move for Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos – Daily Mail.
