Manchester United Transfers: Arturo Vidal £30m Transfer Moves Closer And Van Gaal Wants Another New Left-Back

All the biggest transfer stories surrounding the Red Devils.

Manchester United given boost in the pursuit of Arturo Vidal

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli is keen to balance the books at the club and as a result they need to cash in on either Paul Pogba or Vidal, according to the Mirror.

As a former United player Pogba would appear to be the more likely option for the club on the face of it, although his £60m asking price is considered too much.

Vidal however is a cheaper option at £30m and Agnelli would find that offer hard to refuse as he looks to secure the Italian champions’ finances.

United weighing up a £16m move for Wesley Sneijder

New manager Louis van Gaal is thinking of bringing fellow Dutchman Sneijder with him to Old Trafford from Galatasaray, according to the Sun.

The pair are probably licking their wounds currently after Netherlands were eliminated from the 2014 World Cup on Wednesday after a penalty shootout defeat to Argentina.

However, the 30-year-old attacking midfielder did enough to convince van Gaal he deserves a chance in the Premier League, although whether they want to meet his £16m release clause or not is still to be decided.

Juan Cuadrado refuses to rule out a move to the Theatre of Dreams

Colombia international Cuadrado has given hope to interested clubs Juve and United by stating that he needs time to consider his future, reports the London Evening Standard.

The 27-year-old currently plays for Fiorentina, but has attracted some of the best clubs in Europe after his performances in Serie A and the World Cup over the past 12 months.

Whilst Cuadrado admits he has not received any concrete offers as yet, the South American says he’s in no hurry to decide where his next move will be.

Van Gaal eyes up £15m Ricardo Rodriguez as an alternative to Turin bound Patrice Evra

Despite having only recently signed a one-year extension with the Red Devils it looks as if left-back Evra is set to make a £2m switch to Juve, reports the Times.

This would leave van Gaal with only new £27m signing Luke Shaw as an option on the left side of defence and the 62-year-old is keen to add support for the teenager.

That is why the club have turned to Wolfsburg’s Rodriguez, who has been greatly impressing over the past year in the Bundesliga and at the World Cup with Switzerland.

Although Daley Blind is being eyed as another alternative to Evra

However, the Manchester Evening News reports that van Gaal would actually prefer to bring in his fellow countryman Blind from Ajax should the Frenchman leave.

The 24-year-old has worked under the manager for the past two years in the Dutch national team and also offers more versatility than Rodriguez.

As well as playing as a traditional left-back, Blind can operate more centrally as part of a back three, as a wing back, or even in central midfield.

Red Devils flops Anderson and Bebe to be given one final chance during USA tour

Despite having been widely considered as failures since their transfers to United the club are set to give the duo one more chance during their pre-season tour of the US, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Both Anderson and Bebe have been named in van Gaal’s squad as the former FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich head coach assesses his newly inherited team.

The former spent last season on-loan at Fiorentina, but the Italian club decided not to sign the Brazilian permanently, whilst the Portuguese striker had slightly more success with Rio Ave in his home nation.
