One of the most wanted men in world football, Monaco’s James Rodriguez, has admitted that he would move to the Bernabeu “with his eyes closed”, in order to secure a transfer to Real Madrid.

The Colombian World Cup star, who scored in every single one his country’s games at this summer’s tournament, netted six times in total during his time in Brazil, attracting interest from the likes of Madrid and Manchester United.

Rodriguez told Spanish newspaper Marca: “Now I’m enjoying a little holiday after the World Cup. Then there will be the opportunity and time to talk about the market.

“I’m very well in Monaco, but of course I would come to Real Madrid even with my eyes closed.”

The 23-year-old only joined Monaco for €45 million from Porto last summer, helping the newly promoted French side to a second place finish in their first season back in Ligue 1.

He manage nine goals in 34 league appearances for Monaco last term, but it was his inspirational performances at the World Cup that have caused Madrid to entertain the concept of paying £65m for the Colombian’s services.

The attacking midfielder, who can also play out wide, would form a fearsome trio alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale as Madrid look to build on the team that won the Champions League last season, but missed out on the La Liga title to city rivals Atletico Madrid.
