Manchester United Target Toni Kroos To Real Madrid Deal Done Confirms German Legend

Beckenbauer reveals the German will be heading to the Bernabeu.

Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer has revealed that Manchester United target Toni Kroos will be joining Real Madrid this summer.

The Red Devils have long been tracking the midfielder, but Kroos made it clear earlier in 2014 that he had no intention of joining the Premier League club.

However, with the 24-year-old failing to agree on a new deal at the Allianz Arena – with his current contract with Bayern expiring in 2015 – it was becoming increasingly clear the German would be leaving the Bundesliga champions.

The club have been forced to cash in on Kroos this summer or face losing one of their best players on a free transfer in 12 months time, although Madrid are likely to land the midfield ace for a cut price fee in any case.

The Germany international is currently at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil preparing for the final of the tournament against Argentina on Sunday.

Kroos has been key to the success of Joachim Low’s side, scoring twice during the 7-1 semi-final rout of the Brazilians on Tuesday and then being named on FIFA’s 10-man shortlist for Player of the Tournament on Friday.

The arrival of the midfielder casts further doubt over the future of Angel di Maria at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, with the Argentine admitting that he is unsure where his future lies.

United are also interested in signing di Maria, according to Goal, although will face competition from the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
