The Argentine is ready to leave the Bernabeu with PSG also keeping tabs.

Angel di Maria has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave this summer, according to respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, putting interested clubs Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain on alert.

The 26-year-old is currently away at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with his national team Argentina as they prepare to take on Germany in the final of the tournament on Sunday.

Di Maria was a key part of Madrid’s success last season – as they won the Champions League and Copa del Rey – but has grown disillusioned at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and is ready to move on.

Los Blancos don’t want to sell the South American, but if they are forced to want to hold out for €70m (£55.7m), but neither United or PSG are prepared to pay that much for the midfield ace.

The French champions hold the advantage in the race to sign di Maria however, with their added incentive of being able to offer Champions League football next term – something which the Red Devils cannot following their seventh place finish in the Premier League in 2013/14.

The Argentinian joined Madrid in the summer of 2010 from Benfica for a fee of £20.3m and has since played 189 times for the club in all competitions, winning La Liga, two Copa del Rey titles and the Champions League.
