Toni Kroos, who’s just picked up a World Cup winners medal with Germany, has confirmed that he’s set to join Real Madrid from Bayern Munich this summer – and their potential side for 2014/15 with the midfielder included is exceptional.

Here’s how he might slot into the XI.

GK) Diego Lopez

Lopez started in Real’s La Liga fixtures last term, and after Iker Casillas’s World Cup meltdown, we see no reason as to why he won’t be doing so again.

DR) Daniel Carvajal

The 22-year-old is rapidly improving, and provides Los Blancos with a consistent and hard-working presence up the right flank.

DC) Sergio Ramos

One of the world’s very best centre-backs, Ramos will likely captain the side for most of next term.

DC) Raphael Varane

It’s time for Varane to be given the first-choice role alongside Ramos at the back, with Pepe acting as top class backup. Varane has all thee ability to develop into the very best in the world.

DL) Marcelo

Despite his World Cup semi-final shocker, Marcelo is still one of the best left-backs on the planet, and Real Madrid will be more than happy to field him in the role next term once more.

DMC) Xabi Alonso

With Kroos deserving a starting spot, and Luka Modric a favourite of Carlo Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso (or perhaps Asier Illarramendi) will likely have to give the side balance in an anchoring midfield role. Sami Khedira is expected to join Arsenal for around £23m.

MC) Luka Modric

In Modric, Ancelotti has a hard-working midfielder, who can drift between the lines and link the blistering front three with the rest of the side. The Croatian’s role in the side means Argentine sensation Angel di Maria could be on his way out, and World Cup superstar James Rodrigez could also arrive at the Bernabeu and compete for this spot.

MC) Toni Kroos

In Alonso, Modric and new boy Kroos, Ancelotti has arguably the three best passers of a football in Europe at his disposal! Kroos is capable of relentlessly ticking over possession, while picking out clever passes to onrushing forwards from deep. His arrival will benefit Bale and Ronaldo hugely.

AMR) Gareth Bale

The world’s most expensive player, Bale will hope to stay injury free this season – and improve on his tally of 21 goals and 16 assists from last season.

AML) Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo fired Los Blancos to a Champions League win last year, scoring 17 goals in the tournament, a competition record. If he and Bale fire on all cylinders, they’ll simply be unstoppable as an attacking force.

FC) Karim Benzema

The French forward acts as a spearhead and a pivot for Ronaldo and bale to work off, and although Falcao has been linked, Real Madrid could do worse than holding on to Benzema.
