Manchester United Transfers: Arturo Vidal And Angel Di Maria Deals Move Closer, £55m Striker Wants Premier League Switch

The biggest transfer stories of the day for the Red Devils.

Arturo Vidal admits he would love to play for Manchester United

The 13-time Premier League champions have been given hope in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Vidal.

The Chile international has admitted that whilst he is unaware of any rumours linking him with a switch to Old Trafford, he was quoted by the Independent stating United would interest him.

“Anyone would love to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Vidal said.

Yet a fee for Vidal is yet to be agreed

Despite the fact the South American appears to be keen on a move to the Theatre of Dreams, the Red Devils are refusing to be held to ransom over the price.

The Mirror reports that Juve want £34m for the 27-year-old, which is a price United are unwilling to pay currently despite having just had a fresh injection of cash.

The £750m deal the club agreed with Adidas is the most expensive in the history of the sport and having already spent £56m on Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, it seems strange they will not pay the asking price for Vidal.

Angel di Maria could also be joining the Red Devils are turning down Paris Saint-Germain

The good news doesn’t stop there either as another top transfer target – di Maria of Real Madrid – moves closer to a switch to England after rejecting PSG, according to the Mirror.

The Argentina international is likely to leave the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer after admitting he does not know whether his future lies there anymore and is said to favour the Premier League.

However, one stumbling block for Louis van Gaal could be the fact that the 26-year-old wants to be playing Champions League football.

Mats Hummels will join di Maria and Vidal in a triple swoop for van Gaal

The Daily Star says that as well as securing two of their prime midfield targets, the Red Devils are also set to complete a swoop for Borussia Dortmund centre-back Hummels.

The 25-year-old was instrumental in his nation Germany winning the 2014 World Cup on Sunday and is regarded as one of the finest defenders in world football currently.

Van Gaal is said to have been given significant funds from the Adidas deal to complete the multimillion pound signings of di Maria, Hummels and Vidal.

Edinson Cavani desperate for Premier League move

After returning from the World Cup in Brazil – where he was playing for Uruguay – PSG striker Cavani has instructed his agent to investigate a switch to England, reports Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old only signed for the Ligue 1 champions last summer when he became their club record signing upon completing a £55m move to the Parc des Princes.

Yet Cavani has failed to truly settle in the French capital and is now looking to cross the Channel for his next footballing destination, putting United on alert as a result.
