Here’s the ten sides whose players got through the most leg work during the last month…

10) Swansea City – 78.1 KM run

Ki Sueng-yueng was Swansea’s most willing runner at the World Cup, covering 32.5 KM with South Korea. Wilfried Bony also played for the Ivory Coast, but they were knocked out at the Group Stages like Ki’s outfit.

9) Stoke City – 96 KM run

Stoke’s American work-horse Geoff Cameron covered 35.6 KM, more than any other Potter. Wilson Palacios got sent off for Honduras, but Peter Odemwingie played very well for the Nigerians.

8) Newcastle United – 100.9 KN run

The Magpies are about to sell France’s starting right-back Mathieu Debuchy to Arsenal – and the defender covered 39.9 KM at the World Cup. Moussa Sissoko also featured for the French – although Tim Krul didn’t cover any ground when he came off the bench to help the Dutch win their quarter-final penalty shoot-out!

7) Everton – 102.2 KM run

Belgium winger Kevin Mirallas covered 27.8 KM at the World Cup, while Leighton Baines also played two relatively uninspiring games for England at left-back.

6) Liverpool – 165 KM run

Liverpool players made up nearly half the England side, but it was striker Daniel Sturridge who covered the most ground – running 26.9 KM during his three appearances.

5) Tottenham – 202.3KM run

France’s Hugo Lloris, and Belgium trio Nacer Chadli, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele all played this summer – but it was Vertonghen who covered the most ground from left-back – running 47.2 KM.

4) Manchester City – 316 KM run

No Premier League player in the country covered more ground than Pablo Zabaleta, the Argentinian fullback who ran 79.1 KM at the World Cup! Brazil’s Fernandinho, Belgium’s Vincent Kompany, England’s James Milner, and Spain’s David Silva all featured, to name but a few!

3) Arsenal – 320.6 KM run

Arsenal’s Germans were prominent at the World Cup, with Mesut Ozil (who ran 73.2 KM), Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski all playing their part in the tournament victory.

2) Manchester United – 325.5 KM run

Man United’s brilliant Dutchman Robin van Persie did more running at the World Cup than any other Red Devil, and interestingly, he’s been given an extended three week break after claiming he is extremely fatigued after the tournament.

1) Chelsea – 436.3 KM run

Chelsea’s squad covered over 100 KM more at the World Cup than any other Premier League club! This is because of their numerous Brazilians (Oscar, Willian, Ramires), German winger Andre Schurrle, Spain duo Fernando Torres & Cesar Azpilicueta, Nigerian anchorman John Obi Mikel and even English defender Gary Cahill. Oscar did the most work though, covering 70.6 KM.
