The Reds have already splashed a large amount of cash this summer on Emre Can, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic, but are expected to continue spending lavishly before the start of the new season, mainly thanks to the £75m Luis Suarez cash injection.

Here’s four players that are almost certain to arrive, and one quite exciting one that potentially could as well…

5) Loic Remy – QPR – £8.5m

The French forward will sign from QPR after the Reds agreed to meet his bargain release clause. Remy will provide backup and competition for Daniel Sturridge up top, having notched 14 Premier League goals on loan for Newcastle last season.

4) Dejan Lovren – Southampton – £20m

Lovren’s £20m move to Anfield from Southampton is also close to completion, with the Croat expected to arrive and partner Frenchman Mamadou Sakho in central defence. The pair will hope to shore up Liverpool’s very leaky defence from last season.

3) Divock Origi – Lille – £10m

The young Belgium forward performed excellently at the World Cup, and is all set to conclude an excellent summer by signing for Liverpool from Lille for the mooted fee.

2) Alberto Moreno – Sevilla – £20m

The Reds have let Spurs beat them to Swansea left-back Ben Davies’ signature, meaning that surely they will eventually agree to stump the asking price for 22-year-old Spaniard Moreno. They badly need a left-back, and Moreno is the first-choice. Reports of a deal being off or on have come out all summer, but if Liverpool are happy to spend £20m on Lovren and Markovic, it seems implausible that they wouldn’t do the same for the Spanish international.

1) Isco – Real Madrid – £23m – (Or loan)

Real Madrid are on the verge of completing a deal for World Cup superstar James Rodriguez, meaning young Spaniard Isco could well be surplus to requirements. Liverpool have already made an enquiry for the 22-year-old, who cost Real Madrid £23m last summer, and Los Blancos would surely want to recoup at least what they paid for him, or send him out on loan to continue his development. It seems strange though that Liverpool are so interested in signing Isco, when they already have playmakers like Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Raheem Sterling and Lazar Markovic at the club.
