Steven Gerrard has retired from international duty, bringing to an end 14-years of representing his country.

The Liverpool skipper made his debut in 2000 in a 2-0 win over Ukraine at Wembley, and went on to play 114 times for the national team, scoring 21 goals in the process. He also captained England on 38 occasions.

Gerrard will continue his strong relationship with The Football Association developed during his England career, in a high profile ambassadorial role with the Governing Body.
