A good shot stopper who has plenty of experience, but makes too many costly errors.

19) Tom Heaton (Burnley)

Has quick reflexes and good concentration, but is yet to prove himself at Premier League level.

18) Adrian (West Ham United)

Excellent reflexes and shot stopping but lacks concentration and perhaps comes off his line too readily.

17) Julian Speroni (Crystal Palace)

Great shot stopper, but like Adrian is often over eager to rush off his line.

16) Allan McGregor (Hull City)

Keeps his concentration and is a decent penalty stopper, but is surprisingly poor with crosses and long-range shots.

15) Vito Mannone (Sunderland)

Excellent long-range passer and deals well with shots from a distance. Could do with staying on his line more often.

14) Artur Boruc (Southampton)

Strong reflexes and reliable at dealing with close range shots, but can be temperamental and does make the odd mistake.

13) Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City)

Very strong shot stopper with good reflexes, needs to work on dealing with crossing as well as his distribution.

12) Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion)

Reliable shot stopper who has proved himself well after leaving Manchester United.

11) Brad Guzan (Aston Villa)

Made himself Villa number one after many years as an understudy, his distribution is particularly impressive.

10) Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea City)

Strong shot stopper who now has a chance to prove himself as a number one. Needs to work on his catching of crosses.

9) Tim Krul (Newcastle United)

Great distributor of the ball and an above-average penalty stopper, can be quick to come off his line.

8) Simon Mignolet (Liverpool)

Great shot-stopper, but way too error prone, and needs to improve his distribution.

7) Joe Hart (Manchester City)

Excellent from close range and in one-on-one situations, but has been caught out more than once by a long shot.

6) Asmir Begovic (Stoke City)

Great shot stopper, distributor and rarely makes a mistake. An excellent all-round goalkeeper.

5) Tim Howard (Everton)

Proved himself as a fantastic shot stopper yet again at the World Cup, but can be occasionally let down by his discipline.

4) Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal)

Winner of the golden glove last season, but could do with catching rather than punching some of the incoming crosses.

3) David de Gea (Manchester United)

Has always been a highly regarded shot stopper, and has improved well in the air since moving to the Premier League.

2) Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur)

One of the best goalkeepers in the world, only let down by some stray long-range passing and an overwhelming desire to punch rather than catch.

1) Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

Has proved himself as one of the very best goalkeepers in the world during his spell with Atletico Madrid, now we will see if he can adjust to life in the Premier League.
